PRESIDENT OBAMA'S LEADERSHIP: DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE
--9/21/09

President Obama has given over 100 interviews since he was inaugurated in January. On Sunday he gave five interviews on five different television stations. He has given speech after speech, and attended town hall meeting after town hall meeting. After all this talk, what’s the consensus? How about some action for once!

The fact that Obama has pretty much continued his campaign into his presidency shouldn’t surprise anyone except maybe those who voted for him. After all, the man had absolutely no leadership experience before being elected president. What, did you really expect him to lead?

There’s an old saying: don’t believe the hype. Obama has been hype ever since he hit the national scene in 2004 with—you guessed it—a big speech. But eight months into his presidency, it’s becoming obvious that not only has he never accomplished anything in his career, but that he doesn’t intend to accomplish anything.

Talk is cheap, and his slipping poll numbers (even after constantly putting his face on everybody’s television screens) show that people are growing tired of his voice. Eventually in a job such as leader of the free world, there must come a time when charisma gives way to substance. However what’s becoming frighteningly apparent is that, besides the hype, there is no substance there.
